What Types of Incontinence Supplies Does Insurance Cover?
Adult Briefs
Sometimes referred to as adult diapers, these products have tab closures that allow easy changes without completely undressing. Adult briefs are excellent options for adults or older adults who have limited mobility or use wheelchairs.
Adult Protective Underwear
Also called adult pull-ons, these single-use products are equipped with a stretch waist and elastic leg openings. Adult protective underwear is made to look and feel like regular underwear, providing discretion and comfort for wearers. They come in a variety of designs to appeal to male and female users.
Bladder Control Pads
Bladder control pads are designed for ultimate discretion and are worn inside undergarments. Made with odor control and moderate absorbency, bladder pads are excellent options for adults with light to moderate urinary leakage.
Pediatric Diapers
Pediatric diapers are made for children ages 3 to 4 and up who have incontinence or an underlying condition that causes delayed potty training. Kids’ diapers come equipped with ultimate absorbency for heavier leakage, odor control, and tab-style closures for easy changes.
Pediatric Pull-Ups
Pull-ups are made for children ages 3 to 4 and up, and they come in various styles to appeal to boys and girls. Pull-ups are perfect for children with disabilities or underlying medical conditions that may cause delayed potty training. They have an elastic waist that pulls up around the body and elastic leg holes for extra comfort.
Underpads
Also called Chux, underpads are large, absorbent pads that protect furniture, car seats, bedding, mattresses, and any other surface that requires protection from leakage. They have a soft, absorbent layer on the top and a liquid-proof barrier on the bottom.
Disposable Wipes
Disposable wipes are moist towelettes that can make changes and accident clean-up more sanitary.
Gloves
Gloves come in a variety of sizes to fit different bodies and can help make clean-up and changes more sanitary.
Please note that coverage for incontinence products will vary depending on your or your loved one’s specific insurance plan and state.
